About the Ferry Operator

Virtu Ferries is the Maltese ferry company operating services between Malta and Italy. Since its establishment in 1988, the company has operated scheduled ferry services, expanding to transport cars and trucks in 1999. Today, Virtu Ferries offers a connection from the Maltese capital of Valletta to Pozzallo in Sicily. The crossing takes approximately one and a half hours. The originally offered route to Catania is no longer available.
